These terms govern your use of Vukana. By creating an account, browsing events, or applying to organize on Vukana, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Vukana is an event discovery platform for Kenya. Organizers submit events, our team reviews them, and approved events become visible to everyone browsing the site.
Vukana is not currently a ticketing or payment platform. We don't process ticket sales, and we're not a party to any transaction between you and an event organizer — including ticket purchases, entry fees, or refunds, which are handled entirely by the organizer outside of Vukana.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on Vukana. Anyone can browse public event listings without an account. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you'll keep it up to date.
You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
Anyone can apply to become an organizer by describing the events they intend to run. We review every application personally — approval is at our discretion, and we may reject an application or request more information before approving it.
Approved organizers can submit events for publication. Every event submission goes through admin review before it becomes public — we may approve it, reject it, or ask for changes. We reserve the right to remove any live event, or suspend or revoke organizer access, at any time if we believe it violates these terms or is otherwise harmful, fraudulent, or misleading.
As an organizer, you're solely responsible for:
Reviewing and approving an event listing means we've checked it against our content standards — it doesn't mean we've verified every claim, endorsed the event, or guarantee it will happen as described.
You agree not to submit or post content that:
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these standards, without prior notice, at our discretion.
You retain ownership of the content you submit (event details, images, descriptions, profile information). By submitting it, you grant Vukana a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content as part of operating the platform — for example, showing your event on the homepage, in search results, or in category listings.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, provide false information, or engage in behavior that harms Vukana, other users, or third parties. You can stop using Vukana and request account deletion at any time by contacting us.
Vukana is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any event listed will occur as described. Events are organized by independent third parties, not by Vukana — we're a discovery platform, not the organizer, host, or promoter of any event listed.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vukana is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from your attendance at, or an organizer's conduct of, any event discovered through the platform.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Vukana and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to Vukana is limited to the amount (if any) you've paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
We may update these terms as Vukana evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the “last updated” date above. Continuing to use Vukana after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
